A Second Dave’s Hot Chicken Hatching Soon on the Southside

The L.A.-based spicy chicken chain has plans for eight total locations in San Antonio

Dave’s Hot Chicken, a spicy chicken chain, has plans for its second San Antonio location, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration. The storefront will open at 7511 New Braunfels Ave., inside the La Picosa entertainment center at Brooks City Base.

What Now San Antonio reached out to local franchisees Paul Gorman adn John and Jason Hotchkiss, but they were not immediately available for comment.

According to the filing, the 2,500-square-foot location will begin construction this May and complete in November. It will be joining other exciting developments in the former Air Force base now known as Brooks, including La Gloria and Pluckers.

Fans and newcomers alike will no doubt be excited by the chain’s promise of giant chicken tenders—served on their own or on sandwiches—that come in up to seven different levels of heat. From “No Spice” to “California Reaper,” the chain offers exciting flavors for hot chicken enthusiasts of all kinds.

Founded in 2017, Dave’s Hot Chicken started franchising in 2019, and already has over 100 locations nationwide built out, and over 500 units comitted by franchisees. In 2021, the chain went multinational with a location opened in Toronto.

In a 2022 press release, Dave’s Hot Chicken has confirmed that a multi unit agreement had been signed with brothers John and Jason Hotchkiss and Paul Gorman for at least eight San Antonio locations.
