Adair Kitchen, a popular Houston family-owned restaurant concept, is getting a new San Antonio sibling. The fresh and locally-sourced eatery is embarking on opening a new location that’s been a long time coming. According to a state permit, Adair Kitchen was supposed to open at 4108 Broadway early last year.

A recent report from MYSA details that Adair Kitchen put in place a new timeline that set the opening to October. While construction was still underway at the former Jim’s location on Broadway near Hildebrand during the holidays, Adair Kitchen had not yet opened by the end of 2025.

Second-generation restaurateurs Nick and Katie Adair opened Adair Kitchen in 2012 as part of Adair Concepts, a company founded by their father, Gary AdairWhat Now San Antonio reached out to the family to try to find out the latest about the Adair Kitchen, set to open on Broadway in San Antonio any day now.

The Adair family has been in the restaurant business in Houston since 1988, with Gary Adair establishing Skeeters Mesquite Grill. The family now operates several concepts. The new San Antonio Adair Kitchen will be the third edition of the concept.

The concept emphasizes fresh, locally sourced ingredients, drawing inspiration from the founders’ backgrounds, with a focus on quality and sustainability.

“Adair Kitchen strives to make simple favorites accessible morning, noon, and night. With a focus on quality, our recipes are straight from our home kitchens to your table,” the website reads.

“Morning breakfast favorites, alongside flavorful, something-for-everyone lunch options, round out our counter service days. Join us in the evenings for full-service entrees enhanced by our signature cocktail menu and full bar.”

While Adair Kitchen serves warm buttermilk biscuits and fresh pancakes and waffles in the mornings for breakfast, the eatery also serves a variety of sandwiches, salads, soups, bowls, and “main events” for lunch. At night, Adair opens up its “from the garden” items, explosive table sides, shareable items, cocktails, and more for dinner.

While details on an exact opening date are still up in the air, you can expect to hear and see the San Antonio Adair Kitchen pop up early this year.
