A new Italian eatery, Rustic Alaskan Pizza Lounge — formerly known as Scodellas Grill Italiano — is coming to Balcones Heights, according to MySA.

Taking over the former Grady’s BBQ spot at 4109 Fredericksburg Road, the restaurant will land near establishments such as A-1 Car Stereo, Iguanas Burritozilla, and Jiffy Lube.

Behind the concept are Kevin Held, also known as “Chef Kev,” and his partner Genna Fox, who “opened their first restaurant in Anchorage, Alaska in 2014,” according to the concept’s website.

“Scodellas is proudly elevating you with the world’s first-ever, unapologetic, UNIMAGINABLE, ‘Levels-Of-Flavor’ Menu. All menu items have received our coveted, official, Alaskan Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) ‘Levels-Of-Flavor’ Seal of Approval,” the introduction continues.

Should the awarded menu remain consistent, locals can expect Italian and Tex-Mex fusion items such as Alaskan pizzas, 1-lb ‘panuozzo’ sandwiches, and ‘scodellas’ — or pizza dough bowls filled with pasta.

An opening date has not been announced yet, so stay tuned for updates.

Note: The article has been updated to reflect the concept’s name change.
