Andy’s Frozen Custard, “a chain of United States frozen custard stores with over 85 locations in 14 states,” plans to open a new outpost in Cibolo, according to a recently submitted permit application.
Coming to 933 Cibolo Valley Drive, the eatery will land near establishments such as Chipotle, P. Terry’s, and Smoothie King.
What Now San Antonio reached out to franchisee Joe Shields to inquire about the upcoming eatery, but he could not provide additional information before publication.
Nevertheless, the filing offers further insight — disclosing that construction of the “new 1622 SF drive-thru frozen custard retail store building” is scheduled to begin on April 1 and finish on August 31. For an estimated $1,900,000, the project will be carried out by Helotes-based firm KNRG Architects.
For readers who are unfamiliar with the franchise, Andy’s Frozen Custard is known for its frozen custard of either vanilla or chocolate flavors that can be topped with a variety of ingredients — think Oreo, cookie dough, strawberry, espresso, cherries, almonds, and others. Andy’s also serves sundaes, malts, floats, pies, brownies, and seasonal specialties.
An opening date has not been announced yet. Follow Andy’s Frozen Custard on Facebook and Instagram for additional updates.
