The Sicilian Butcher, the modern-casual Italian restaurant known for its craft meatballs, house-made pastas, and butchery-inspired Italian fare, will officially open its San Antonio location on Friday, Nov. 21, 2025. Located at 5546 N. Loop 1604 W., San Antonio, TX 78249, this marks the brand’s third Texas restaurant and continued expansion across the Southwest, following its recent opening in Nashville, Tennessee, earlier this month.
Since its Arizona debut in 2017, The Sicilian Butcher has become a dining favorite for its build-your-own meal experience featuring gourmet meatballs and Sicilian-style bruschetta boards. Each Butcher location is paired with The Sicilian Baker, an Italian bakery known for its innovative build-your-own cannoli bar and a tempting selection of classic pastries.
The Maggiore Group, co-founded by Chef Joey Maggiore and his wife Cristina Maggiore, partnered with Savory Fund in 2021 to expand the brand beyond its Arizona roots into neighboring states, bringing authentic Sicilian flavor to new communities across the country.
“San Antonio has such a rich and diverse culinary scene, and we’re thrilled to bring our Sicilian soul to the table,” says Chef Joey Maggiore, chef and co-founder of The Maggiore Group in a statement. “We want every guest to feel like part of our famiglia, sharing good food, laughter, and a little bit of that Italian magic.”
We’re proud to partner with Joey and Cristina to bring The Sicilian Butcher experience to San Antonio,” says Andrew K. Smith, Managing Director & Co-Founder of Savory Fund. “Their passion for authentic Sicilian flavors and hospitality aligns perfectly with our mission to support emerging restaurant brands that deliver both exceptional food and unforgettable experiences. We’re excited to see their craft meatballs, handmade pastas, and innovative bakery offerings delight a whole new community.”
Guests at the San Antonio location can expect dishes such as Chef Joey’s handmade pastas, Sicilian family platters, and bruschetta boards, along with authentic desserts from The Sicilian Baker, including hand-filled cannoli, rotating gelato flavors, and classic Italian pastries like lobster tails and sfogliatelle.
With the opening of San Antonio, following the success of The Sicilian Butcher’s North Dallas and Fort Worth locations, the restaurant concept will operate seven locations nationwide, marking another milestone for The Maggiore Group as they continue to bring their signature Italian hospitality to new markets. This exciting growth mirrors that of sister concept Hash Kitchen, which now boasts 11 locations across three states: Arizona, Texas, and Utah.
