According to a recently submitted permit application, a new concept, Babe’s Crispy Chicken, is debuting in San Antonio.

Coming to 12020 O’Connor Road, the eatery will share an address with longtime burger joint Babe’s Old Fashioned Food.

What Now San Antonio contacted the concept’s owner, Tony Obeid — who is also the General Manager of Babe’s Old Fashioned Food — to inquire about the upcoming eatery, but he could not provide additional information before publication.

Nevertheless, the filing offers further insight.

Construction of a new 1,050-square-foot building to house the eatery will begin on November 30 and be completed in May 2025, costing an estimated $200,000 in total.

For readers unfamiliar with Babe’s Old Fashioned Food, the concept has served the city since 1987 and is known for burgers and chicken tenders.

An opening date has not been announced yet. Stay tuned for updates.
