Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii — a coffee shop chain specializing in 100% Kona and Hawaiian coffee — plans to expand to Boerne, according to a recently submitted permit application.
Coming to Boerne Town Center at 34590 IH-10 W, the cafe will land near establishments such as Las Palapas, Sauced Wing Bar, and Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers.
Fo readers who are unfamiliar with Bad Ass Coffee, the business offers a brief introduction on its website: “In 1989, Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii was born on the Big Island of Hawaii with a goal of sharing American-grown, premium Hawaiian coffee from Kauai, Oahu, Maui, Moloka‘i, Kona and Ka’u with coffee lovers everywhere.”
“In 1995, B.J. Bilanzich was so taken by the playfulness of the brand, that upon arrival to Salt Lake City, she and her husband began to open stores in Utah and eventually purchased Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii and began franchising on the mainland,” the staement continues.
Today, the brand serves “popular blended drinks, teas, food, and branded merchandise with exceptional service through 32 stores in the U.S.”
What Now San Antonio reached out to, Scott Snyder, CEO at Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii, to inquire about the company’s plans for the upcoming locale, but he could not provide additional information before publication.
Nevertheless, the filing reveals that upgrades to the existing 1,512-square-foot space are slated to begin on August 5 and to conclude on October 4. For an estimated $450,000, the project will be managed by the Denver-based firm studio|shop. architects.
