Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii — a coffee shop chain specializing in 100% Kona and Hawaiian coffee — plans to enlarge its footprint in San Antonio.
In a recent email exchange, Scott Snyder, the CEO of Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii, tells What Now San Antonio, “The Franchisee in the San Antonio market has committed to a minimum of two additional stores in the Northern San Antonio Market. The real estate search is underway right now for locations #2 and #3.”
The company is also planning expansion into Boerne, as reported on by What Now San Antonio last week — concerning which, Snyder comments, “We are hoping to open the Boerne Town Center location before year-end, but that is subject to construction completion schedules for the development as a whole. While year-end is hopeful, early 2026 is also a possibility.”
Fo readers who are unfamiliar with Bad Ass Coffee, the business offers a brief introduction on its website: “In 1989, Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii was born on the Big Island of Hawaii with a goal of sharing American-grown, premium Hawaiian coffee from Kauai, Oahu, Maui, Moloka‘i, Kona and Ka’u with coffee lovers everywhere.”
“In 1995, B.J. Bilanzich was so taken by the playfulness of the brand, that upon arrival to Salt Lake City, she and her husband began to open stores in Utah and eventually purchased Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii and began franchising on the mainland,” the staement continues.
Today, the brand serves “popular blended drinks, teas, food, and branded merchandise with exceptional service through 32 stores in the U.S.”
