SusieCakes, a bakery chain with locations across California and Texas, is gearing up to debut a new outpost in San Antonio.

According to a recently submitted permit application, the business is expanding to Suite 218 at 7322 Jones Maltsberger Road, joining the Quarry Crossing open-air mall alongside tenants such as New Balance, Pottery Barn, and Quarry Hofbrau & Beer Garden.

For readers who are unfamiliar with SusieCakes, the company was founded by Susan “Susie”
Sarich
in 2006 and presently operates over 25 shops. In addition to cakes, the menu boasts cupcakes, cookies, and treats such as whoopie pies.

“You most likely recall a cake as part of your life’s milestone celebrations,” Sarich says on the company’s website.

She continues, “Cake has the unique ability to connect us with the people and events of our past. However, cake should not be reserved only for these special occasions. A delicious slice of cake can immediately bring a bit of celebration to an ordinary day.”

An opening date has not been announced yet, so follow SusieCakes on Facebook for updates.
