Stout House, a pub-style bar with five existing locations in San Antonio and one in Helotes, is planning to debut a new outpost — this time in San Antonio’s Brooks City Base neighborhood.

Coming to 7511 S New Braunfels Avenue, the tavern will soon neighbor BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse, Black Bear Diner, and La Gloria Mexican Cuisine.

What Now San Antonio reached out to the owner of Stout House, Doug Ackerly, to inquire about the expansion, but he could not provide additional information before publication.

Nevertheless, the filing offers further insight.

Described as the “new construction of tenant improvement for a bar/tavern with two exterior patios,” construction of the 2,452-square-foot space is scheduled to begin on September 6 and be completed in September 2024. For an estimated, $200,000, local firm Chesney Morales Partners will carry out the job.

For readers who are unfamiliar with the concept, Stout House describes itself as “the perfect place to relax and enjoy a cold one” on its website. At the existing locations, patrons can find community-style seating, an outdoor patio, and more than 20 HD televisions.

An opening date has not yet been announced, so follow Stout House on Facebook and Instagram for updates.
