Burger Boy, a San Antonio-based fast-casual chain, plans to open its seventh location. According to public records, the burger joint will soon take over a space at 2209 SW Military Drive that was formerly home to Jack in The Box. Nearby establishments include South Park Mall and eateries such as Dutch Bros Coffee, Panda Express, and Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen.
The local burger business announced the news on its Instagram on April 6, writing, “You all asked, and we heard you! Burger Boy is adding another location to the South Side.”
What Now San Antonio was unable to contact a business representative before the time of publication. Nevertheless, a recent construction permit application provides insight into what’s to come.
The project is described as a renovation of the existing 1,900-square-foot space. According to the application, construction is slated to begin on July 1 and finish by December, costing an estimated $700,000 in total — and carrying out the job will be the San Antonio-based architecture firm Open Studio Architecture.
For readers unfamiliar with Burger Boy, the chain is known for “The Working Man” — a combo that includes a double burger, a large order of fries, and a large drink. In addition to burgers and fries, the eatery serves milkshakes in flavors like Big Red, root beer, Fruity Pebbles, and, its specialty, Dreamsicle.
According to the post, the Military Drive outpost is slated to open sometime this fall. Follow the eatery on Facebook and Instagram for additional updates in the meantime.
