Café Ole at 521 River Walk in San Antonio — near establishments such as Agave Bar, Casa Rio, and Rainforest Cafe — plans to undergo renovations, according to a recently submitted permit application.

Drawing from the filing, the business intends to enlarge the outdoor dining area and add a second outdoor service bar, with construction scheduled to begin on October 16 and be completed by February 2024. For an estimated $400,000, local firm Beaty Palmer Architects has been hired to carry out the project.

For readers unfamiliar with Café Ole, the concept describes itself as a “festive eatery with colorful decor and a patio offering traditional Mexican cooking and margaritas.”

On the menu, Riverwalk visitors can find Tex-Mex specialties such as enchiladas, tacos, and chalupas, as well as pizza, soups, and salads.

How the upcoming renovations will affect business operations has not been made clear yet, so follow Café Ole on Facebook and Instagram for updates.
