According to a recently submitted permit application, the California-based dining concept Luscious Dumplings plans to expand to Alamo City.

Coming to 415 W 1604 S 113, the eatery’s first San Antonio outpost will land near establishments such as Costco, Famous Footwear, and PetSmart.

“We’re in talks with a restaurant group in San Antonio,” Ker Zhu, the co-owner of Luscious Dumplings, tells What Now San Antonio. “They were interested, so we brought them here for a couple of months to train hands-on.”

“We’re adding a few new items to the San Antonio menu,” Zhu says, sharing that the upcoming location will offer a variety of “traditional plates.” “There will be more than just dumplings for people to choose from, and we will serve boba as well,” he adds.

For readers who are unfamiliar with the business, the Luscious Dumplings website states that the concept was founded in Los Angeles in 2001 by Alan Lam & Grace Li, Zhu’s in-laws. Zhu and his wife joined the company in 2001, and by the end of 2025, Luscious Dumplings plans to operate 10 locations across California, Colorado, Pennsylvania, and Texas.

Luscious Dumplings in San Antonio is slated to open in May. Stay tuned for updates.
