The chef behind local concepts such as Signature — a fine dining restaurant known for offering seasonal fare inspired by French and Texan Cuisine at La Cantera Resort & Spa — and the burger joint Mr. Juicy plans to debut a new, yet-to-be-named concept in the Alamo City.
Coming to 10003 NW Military Highway — taking over space formerly home to The Hayden at Alon Market, a Jewish diner that closed back in May — the eatery will land near establishments such as the Mexican food restaurant El Mirasol, H-E-B, and Nothing Bundt Cakes.
What Now San Antonio reached out to Chef Andrew Weissman to inquire about his plans; however, he could not provide additional information before publication.
Nevertheless, MySA quotes him introducing the concept, sharing, “The cuisine is refined American, French technique… I will do my best to keep entrees under $20 with the exception of nightly specials.” Additionally, the Journal states that there will be bar seating and that cocktails will range from $8 to $10.
He adds, “I am trying to let guests know that a tip is definitely appreciated, but not necessary. I realize the pain point that guests feel about tipping and want to alleviate that if possible.” Instead, he intends to pay his employees “healthy” hourly wages.
Weissman’s latest concept is slated to open on November 1. Follow What Now San Antonio on Facebook for updates.
