According to MySA, Chef Johnny Hernandez has confirmed that his upcoming food hall concept, Southtown, will open at 1725 S. Alamo Street — near establishments such as Botanero Lounge, Camp Outpost, and Dos Sirenos Brewing.

“The Southtown Food Hall will be a true reflection of our community’s spirit,” Hernandez said in a press release. He adds, “We’re creating a space where everyone can come together to enjoy great food, drinks, and the laid-back yet artistic atmosphere that makes Southtown so special.”

For readers who are unfamiliar with Chef Johnny Hernandez, he also owns and operates La Gloria, a food truck concept known for celebrating the rich and delicious street foods found across the diverse regions of interior Mexico; Frutería-Botanero, which is focused on authentic and contemporary Mexican-style tapas and fresh Mexican-inspired cocktails; the burger concept Burgerteca; Casa Hernan Cantina, a Southtown cantina and Mexican botanero bar; and Super Bien Tex Mex Cocina, which is located in Terminal A of the San Antonio International Airport.

“Our collaboration is a celebration of community, flavor, and the friendly spirit of San Antonio. We’re bringing together two local favorites to create something truly special,” Hernandez said.

Southtown Food Hall is slated to open in early 2026. Stay tuned for updates.
