According to a recent Instagram post, West Side cocktail bar Chiflada’s will temporarily close between May 12 and 23 to undergo a light renovation.

“We wanted to let y’all know a week ahead that we’ll be CLOSING Monday, May 12th, for 12 DAYS after this week. Our girl is getting a little upgrade and we can’t be more excited. That means you’ll be without us for 12 WHOLE days. So be sure to get your fix in before you can’t. We promise it will be worth the wait,” the status states.

The concept’s co-owner, Natasha Riffle, elaborates, telling What Now San Antonio that the upgrades aim to open up the space and allow for more flow. For example, a new, windowed garage door will serve as a second entrance, an interior wall will be removed, and an access ramp will be added.

Aiming to reopen by Memorial Day weekend, Chiflada’s will be new and improved in time for its two-year anniversary, which will be celebrated the first weekend of June.

For readers who are unfamiliar with the drinkery, it’s known for its beverages as well as hosting live music, DJs, karaoke events, and food trucks. Located at 1804 W Martin Street, it’s neighbored by establishments such as the bar Jaime’s Place, Las Delicias Tacos #1, and Shotgun House Coffee Roasters.
