Chubby Cattle Continues Booming Texas Expansion, With Plan to Open its First San Antonio Location

Chubby Cattle is on a whirlwind expansion in Texas. The company just announced an opening in Austin; now it is set to open a Chubby Cattle in San Antonio in 2026.

Chubby Cattle is continuing to expand its footprint in the Lone Star State. According to its website, the quickly growing Chinese hotpot spot is coming to San Antonio soon, making it the first Chubby Cattle in the Alamo City. The new all-you-can-eat eatery will live at 7400 San Pedro Ave.

The Chubby Group, the team behind the Chubby Cattle brand, shared with What Now San Antonio that it intends to open the new San Antonio premium Wagyu BBQ hot spot in the Fall of 2026.

“We are looking forward to bringing our concepts,” co-owner David Zhao said via text.

Zhao runs the company with co-owner Haibin Yang. Founding partner, Zhao, states on his LinkedIn, “Since opening its first restaurant in 2015, Chubby Cattle International has scaled to ten locations across the U.S.”

Well, you can now make that 16 locations with Chubby Cattle restaurants in Vegas, New York, and Los Angeles. The Chubby Group is embarking on a huge expansion with eight locations, including San Antonio, Austin, and Honolulu, listed as coming soon on its website.

The website goes on to explain that the first location the group opened in the US was Monterey Park in April of 2023.

While there’s no exact date yet on when the San Antonio Chubby Catttle will open, you can rest assured knowing that all of their specialties and offerings will surely be available at the new AYCE BBQ and hotpot fine dining experience.

Specializing in authentic Chinese hotpot, the eatery serves up a plethora of flavorful broths that customers can add fresh meats, seafood, and vegetables to for a communal dining experience. Chubby Cattle also recently forged into the all-you-can-eat BBQ option, offering premium Wagyu and a variety of other delicacies.

You can expect to see this new AYCE hotpot option up and running in San Antonio at 7400 San Pedro Ave. in the Fall of 2026. Keep an eye on the Chubby Cattle social media pages to stay abreast of the exact opening date and grand opening for the first San Antonio Chubby Cattle.
