The Human Bean, a coffee kiosk franchise that operates over 300 drive-thru locations across the US, is planning to open its first outpost in New Braunfels.

According to a recent construction permit application, The Human Bean intends to build a 500-square-foot kiosk at 380 Hwy 46 W — near eateries such as P. Terry’s, Chili’s, and Taqueria El Sazon Tapatio.

What Now San Antonio reached out to the franchisee, Rodney Fischer, but he could not provide additional information before publication.

Nevertheless, the filing provides additional insight.

Construction is slated to begin on September 1 and wrap up by January 1, 2024 — and the job will be executed by the San Antonio-based firm Absolute Design Partners, costing an estimated $270,000.

For readers who are unfamiliar with the coffee chain, The Human Bean was founded in 1998 “with a commitment to developing the very best coffee drive-thru in Southern Oregon,” according to its website

An opening date has not yet been announced, so follow The Human Bean on Facebook and Instagram for additional updates.
