Cuarto de Kilo Mesquite Burgers is set to bring its big and loaded burgers to Grosen Crossing next Spring. According to this recently filed state permit, the new Cuarto de Kilo Mesquite Burgers is set to open at 12370 FM 1957, Suite #101.
The permit also details that construction on the burger joint is expected to start in December and is slated to wrap up by the beginning of April. By the time Cuarto de Kilo Mesquite Burgers gets staffed and prepped for its grand opening, interested residents and visitors should be able to take a big bite out of what Cuarto de Kilo Mesquite Burgers cooks up and dishes out by May 2026.
Cuarto de Kilo first opened in downtown Guadalajara, Mexico, nearly two decades ago. Since then chain has grown to 33 locations, according to its website. Keeping the name fresh and alive, the first US opening serves burgers that are more than half a pound, as the name suggests. Cuarto de Kilo literally means “a quarter of a kilo” or more than half a pound in Spanish, and the restaurant does not hold back in keeping the namesake ringing true.
Cuarto de Kilo Mesquite Burgers offers big and juicy burgers that customers can order topped with everything from guacamole and homemade tortilla chips, like the Cuarto Guacamole Cheeseburger, to onion rings and BBQ sauce, like the Cuarto BBQ Cheeseburger with Onion Rings. If that’s not enough, guests can pair their burgers with a range of sides, including Big Cheese Chile Guero, fries, or crispy onion rings.  The burger chain also offers desserts and a kids’ menu.
Cuarto de Kilo’s Alvaro Aguilar was listed on the permit for the opening. What Now San Antonio reached out to Aguilar, but did not hear back by the time of this publication.
Experience Cuarto de Kilo Mesquite Burgers in all its glory when the burger spot opens at the Grosen Crossing at 12370 FM 1957, Suite #101 in Spring 2026.
