According to the San Antonio Business Journal, Spurs Sports and Entertainment is adding a new set of concepts to its Culinary Residency Program at Frost Bank Center.

“The parent company of the NBA Spurs is extending its reach into the local culinary market, growing the program from eight to 12 diverse Alamo City restaurants that will have an opportunity to showcase their signature dishes inside the East Side arena,” the Journal reports.

One of these spots will belong to The Hayden, a modern version of an old-school neighborhood diner.

Its owner, Adam Lampinstein, tells What Now San Antonio that the outpost will offer menu items such as “a pastrami sandwich, a special fried chicken sandwich with a pimento cheese-stuffed poblano pepper wrapped in bacon, a shaved turkey sandwich with coleslaw, and chicken and waffles using potato latke.”

“The Spurs Culinary Residency Program is more than just a showcase of delicious food; it’s a celebration of the stories and passion behind each local business,” Kevin Barker, Associate Director of Culinary Experience for SS&E tells the San Antonio Business Journal.

He continues, “By expanding the program and involving fans in the selection process, we want to highlight the unique narratives and culinary traditions that make San Antonio’s food scene so special.”

An opening date has not been announced yet, so stay tuned for updates.
