According to a recently submitted permit application, the international franchise Domino’s plans to open a new location in San Antonio at 2105 TX-1604 Loop, where it will land near establishments such as 1604 Cantina Food Truck Park, a McDonald’s outpost, and Sonic Drive-In.
What Now San Antonio reached out to the concept’s franchisee, Alan Murph, who shared a little about how he began franchising with the business. “I started delivering for Domino’s in 1983 in Plano [and] bought my first store in San Marcos in 1987,” Murph said.
“My family and I own 109 Domino’s pizza stores. In 2001, we purchased the San Antonio market, which then had 18 stores… We operate in San Antonio, South Austin, and the Hill Country.”
The filing shares that renovations to the existing 1,898-square-foot space are scheduled to begin in October and be completed by January 2026. For an estimated $375,000, the work will be carried out by the Portland-based firm GNICH Architecture Studio, LLC.
For readers who are unfamiliar with the company’s history, Domino’s was founded in Ypsilanti, Michigan, in 1960 and expanded outside of the United States in 1983, when the first store opened in Winnipeg, Canada. “Since then, Domino’s International has extended its global reach to include more than 90 international markets serviced by more than 12,500 stores,” the business shares on its website.
The location is slated to open in the first quarter of next year. Follow What Now San Antonio on Facebook for updates.
