According to the San Antonio Current, Cuishe Cocina at 119 Heiman Street in Downtown San Antonio — near establishments such as Anne’s Wine Bar, Cellar Mixology, and Francis Bogside — is rebranding as Cuishe Cantina.
“Cuishe Cantina will be a laid-back, Mexican sports bar with a menu that’s more Tex-Mex than upscale Mexican. However, those who want their fancier fare can still get it at their Stone Oak location,” the Journal shares.
What Now San Antonio reached out to the concept’s owner, Gerardo De Anda — co-founder of Gusto Group USA — to inquire about his plans for the spot, but he could not provide additional information before publication.
For readers who are unfamiliar with the concept, it offers a brief introduction on its website, “Born in San Antonio, Texas, Cuishe is a locally crafted Mexican culinary experience. Cuishe redefines the flavors of Central Mexican regions like San Luis Potosi, Jalisco, Veracruz, Mexico City, and more.”
“We would like to invite you to discover Central Mexico by delivering native flavors through our recipes, beverages, and an intricately cured wine list. We focus on providing a full array of Mezcal and Tequilas from a wide variety of agaves,” the statement continues.
