At over 30 locations in San Antonio, Chick-fil-A continues its expansion with plans for a new location at 2203 SE Loop. It will be taking over the now-closed Habachi Buffet, and join a competitive East Side market alongside fast-food favorites Whataburger and Sonic, which also have locations nearby.
What Now San Antonio recently reached out to the Director of Southwest Restaurant Development, Steve Lewis, but he was not immediately available for comment.
According to a recent filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration, the new location will encompass both a freestanding quick service restaurant, and drive-thru lanes. The 4,818-square-foot area will begin its ground-up construction in June and complete in November of this year, according to the filing.
This comes alongside several renovation projects that have been planned at other Chick-fil-A properties around the city. The locations at The Rim, Marbach, and the UIW Campus have registered renovations planned for the latter half of this year—many of which include both interior and drive-thru remodeling.
Chick-fil-A has over 400 location in Texas, and the chain is rapidly approaching 3,000 locations nationwide. The company’s onward expansion is great news for fans of its famous chicken sandwiches, nuggets, and wraps.
