According to a recently submitted permit application, the international burger chain Five Guys plans to upgrade one of its outposts in San Antonio.
Located at 195 Creekside Crossing, the fast-casual eatery is neighbored by establishments such as Las Palapas, Sea Island Shrimp House, and Whataburger.
What Now San Antonio reached out to Leonard “Skip” Calvert, VP of Operations at Five Guys, but he could not provide additional information before publication.
Nevertheless, the filing reveals that interior renovations to the 2,500-square-foot spot are scheduled to begin on September 2 and should be completed by September 26. The Chicago-based firm DxU Architects is tasked with carrying out the project for an estimated $75,000.
For readers who are unfamiliar with the business’s history, Five Guys debuted its flagship location in 1986 as a “small, carry-out burger joint” in Arlington, Virginia, per its website. In 2003, Five Guys began offering franchise opportunities, and “in just under 18 months, more than 300 units had been sold.”
Today, the company is headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and operates nearly 2,000 restaurants across the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
On the menu are “hand-formed burgers,” handspun milkshakes, fries, hot dogs, and sandwiches.
How the remodel will affect the location’s hours of operation has not been announced yet. Follow What Now San Antonio on Facebook for updates.
