Gusto Group — the company behind concepts such as Bunker Mixology and Toro Kitchen — plans to debut a new bar in San Antonio.

Coming to 115 N. Loop 1604 E.#1105, a spot formerly home to Toro Stone Oak, Books — A Whiskey Society will land near eateries such as Cuishe Cocina Mexicana, Mellow Mushroom, and Sushi Zushi.

Gusto Group’s CEO and co-founder, Gerardo de Anda, tells MySA that “the Books concept will be stylized in the classic fashion of New York libraries” and will be an “ode to old New York.”

On the menu, locals can expect to find cocktails, scotches, bourbons, and rye whiskeys — and to eat, gourmet pomme fritters and mussels. “World-class cigars” will also be sold at the establishment.

“Books – A Whiskey Society, invites you to join us in a space where every visit is a celebration, every drink a toast to success, and every moment a cherished memory. We are more than just a bar; we are a destination for those who seek to celebrate life’s special moments,” Anda tells the journal.

Books — A Whiskey Society is slated to open in the summer of 2024. Stay tuned for updates.
