Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream is coming to San Antonio in April this year, with a location planned for Alamo City at 5311 N. Loop 1604. When opened, the store will be the first-ever San Antonio location of the Ohio-based handmade ice cream shop.
“When I first tried Handel’s in Indiana, I just knew I had to bring it to Texas,” says Spencer Wolfley, franchisee. “Ice cream is all about making people happy.”
Wolfley says he plans on opening multiple storefronts in Texas, though he is still on the lookout for the right locations.
With over 90 stores, Handel’s has made a name for itself as a high-quality icecream shop with scoops that are made fresh in the store daily. According to the website, Black Cherry and Buckeye are among the dozen or so local flavours that will be available at the San Antonio location.
The new walk-in location will feature both indoor and outdoor seating and will be located inside the South Rim Shopping Center, nearby a Top Golf outlet. Wolfley says he also hopes to attract customers who may be visiting the Six Flags nearby.
“We’re hoping the easy access to this new location will encourage people to come and come try it,” Wolfley says.
