High Street Wine Co., a “modern, rustic wine bar & bottle shop” in San Antonio’s Pearl neighborhood, has temporarily shut down.

“Secret’s out! We’ve outgrown our current space and are expanding the wine bar,” the drinkery shared in an Instagram story in late June — though it did not provide any additional details.

What Now San Antonio reached out to High Street to inquire about the renovations, but representatives could not offer further information before publication.

Nevertheless, a recent report by San Antonio Current supplies some insight.

According to the article, “The wine spot is closed due to renovations that will expand the spot’s footprint into the space next door. It will reopen on September 1.”

For readers who are not familiar with High Street, the bar made its debut in 2016 and is known for its “highly-curated selection of wine, beer, and ciders from around the world” that patrons can enjoy by the glass — and pair with small bites such as flatbreads, chocolate, and cheeseboards — according to its website.

Named a James Beard semifinalist for Outstanding Wine Program in 2020, High Street Wine Co. has cemented itself as a San Antonio staple, and garnered nationwide attention.
