According to MySA, Hill Country staple Lazy J Cajun plans to reopen in November after shuttering earlier in the year due to a nationwide crawfish shortage

At the time, Lazy J Cajun explained to its patrons, “It’s going to be a really bad year for crawfish” and announced on Facebook on Thursday, August 29, that it intended to cease service after Labor Day weekend.

For readers who are unfamiliar with Lazy J Cajun, the concept is known for “providing the area with a true traditional Cajun cuisine that starts with crawfish, frog legs, boudin balls, gator, and many of your other favorite South Lousiana delights,” according to its Facebook page.

At 6390 FM1102 in New Braunfels, the eatery is neighbor to Hunter Valley Storage, the Texas Wildlife Association, and Texas Brigades.

What Now San Antonio reached out to the concept’s owner, Joshua Smith, to inquire about the reopening, but he could not provide additional information before publication.
