According to recently filed permits, a new location of Mambo Seafood is being eyed for south San Antonio near Texas A&M, to be located along SW Loop 410. The Houston-based brand has been rapidly expanding in the area since opening its first SAT location earlier this year in August and has announced plans to open two additional locations on Castroville Road and Goliad Road, as previously reported by What Now San Antonio.

A liquor license filed last week indicates the upcoming Mambo Seafood location near SW Loop 410. The area is currently home to a plethora of fast-casual restaurants like Whataburger, Taco Bell, Sonic, Jack in the Box, KFC, and Taco Cabana. Mambo Seafood’s authentic Latin cuisine and fresh ingredients are sure to be a welcome addition to the community.

Founded in 1996 by Michael Ho, over the last two decades, Mambo has become an iconic local brand known for fresh, high-quality seafood, exemplary service and value by its loyal customer base. The Company operates 13 locations across the greater Houston area with growth plans throughout the Southwest, according to a recent press release.

Last year, Mambo Seafood received investment from Garnett Station Partners, a principal investment firm, to provide the necessary growth capital to take the brand to new heights and expand with more locations in Texas.

Mambo Seafood’s menu spans a variety of Pacific-influenced cuisines, such as empanadas, tilapia chicharrones, fresh oysters, elote, fish tacos, chicken sandwiches, and lobster. It offers a wide selection of beers and mixed drinks, like its signature Mambo Chelada, consisting of a house-made Michelada mix with a blend of spices, a salted mug, fresh lime juice, and your favorite beer, that according to its website, “will give the traditional ‘micheladas’ a refreshing and spicy spin.”

Stay tuned for additional updates on Mambo Seafood’s website, Instagram, and Facebook pages. Company officials were not immediately available to provide additional comment.
