According to MySA, local restaurant Il Forno — known for its wood-fired pizzas — is debuting a new location in San Antonio.

Coming to 1338 E Houston Street, taking over the former Tucker’s Kozy Korner spot, the eatery will land near establishments such as Estate Coffee Company, J&I Coffee Cafe, and Pastiche.

What Now San Antonio reached out to the concept’s owner, Michael Sohocki of the restaurant group Gwendolyn Group, to inquire about his plans for the spot, but he could not provide additional information before publication.

Nevertheless, he tells MySA, “A surviving restaurant is a thousand little things done right.”

For readers who are unfamiliar with Il Forno, the eatery introduces itself on its Google profile as a space where “Neapolitan wood-fired pizzas are made from locally sourced ingredients at this chill, rustic spot.”

Il Forno on Houston Street is slated to open in June 2025. Follow the restaurant on Facebook for updates.
