Jason’s Deli is ramping up operations in the Lone Star State with an opening set to come to the Greater San Antonio area later this year. According to a recently filed permit, the new Jason’s Deli to come to Bexar County is expected to open in Live Oak at 8214 Agora Parkway.

The sandwich chain is preparing to open its latest outpost in the former home of Genghis GrillCulture Map reports. The TDLR paperwork details that construction on the new Jason’s Deli has an anticipated beginning of March start date and is slated to wrap up at the end of October this year.

Kevin Gray, who is listed on the permit, is the Director of Development for Jason’s Deli. What Now San Antonio reached out to Gray to find out more details about the upcoming addition to the Live Oak community, but did not hear back by the time of this publication.

“Whether you’re feeding five or 5,000, the team at Jason’s Deli has you covered. Fresh ingredients, great value, tons of variety so you feel good choosing us, and your guests feel even better eating it,” the Jason’s Deli website reads.

Jason’s Deli is Texas-grown! The growing sandwich brand started in Beaumont in 1976. Joe Tortorice Jr. founded the eatery with an aim to offer healthier, fresh alternatives to fast food. Growing from one location to a large chain known for its family-friendly atmosphere and menu staples like the Muffaletta, there are now nearly 300 Jason’s Deli outlets across 28 states. More than a hundred of those spots have set up shop in Texas.

Named partly after his son, Jay, the deli emphasizes quality and community, using family recipes and focusing on fresh ingredients, a philosophy rooted in Tortorice’s background in the restaurant business.

If we wouldn’t serve it to our families, we’re not going to serve it to yours,” the website reads.

“We only allow natural colors in our food products. Natural colors are pigments obtained from plants, minerals, or other naturally occurring materials. Examples of natural colors include beet juice and caramel.”

Besides the muffalettas, Jason’s Deli has a multitude of specialty sandwiches and famous favorites, including the Bigger Better BLT, the Turkey Wrap, and the Chicken Panini. The brand also dishes out salads, handcrafted bowlspastas, soups, desserts, and a kids’ menu.

You can expect the same menu at the new Live Oak location when it opens. Jason’s Deli to come to Bexar County is expected to open in Live Oak at 8214 Agora Parkway by October 2026.
