James Beard Nominated bakery and café, La Panadería, known for its authentic Mexican pastries, tortas and more, announced its grand opening. The new restaurant opened in the Stone Oak area at 1011 N. Loop 1604 E.
This expansion marks the bakery’s largest store yet, spanning an impressive 6,600 square feet and offering 100 dedicated parking spaces for guests’ convenience. The new location opening has generated 100 new jobs for San Antonio and involved a transformative $3.5 million investment into creating the space.
Guests can indulge in the same menu featuring authentic Mexican pastries, all-day breakfast, brunch and lunch options, alongside a refreshing selection of wine, cocktails, beer, coffee, fresh juice, and customizable tortas and salads.
Additionally, La Panadería proudly introduces Don Lino, its first-ever mascot and a tribute to the generations of bakers who inspired the Cáceres family’s craft. Named after a legendary baker from the brothers’ childhood stories in Mexico City, Don Lino embodies the warmth, tradition and artistry that define La Panadería. With his signature mustache and dimpled smile, he represents every baker whose early-morning dedication fills the air with the scent of fresh bread — and the spirit that continues to guide La Panadería today. The Don Lino story was written by José Cáceres’ son, Emiliano Cáceres Manzano, and can be read fully on La Panadería’s website HERE.
La Panadería is thrilled to be opening its fifth location in San Antonio and would like to extend a special thank you to Karnes County National Bank for their steadfast support.
