According to MySA, Landrace — an award-winning restaurant at the Thompson San Antonio hotel on the River Walk — has shuttered temporarily as it undergoes renovations.
For readers who are unfamiliar with the dining concept, the eatery offers a brief introduction on its website: “At Landrace, we celebrate the rich culinary heritage of the Lone Star State by sourcing the finest ingredients from local heritage growers. Nestled in the heart of San Antonio, our restaurant offers a dynamic, ever-evolving menu that showcases the bounty of each season. From melt-in-your-mouth wagyu filet mignon to delicate wild-caught scallops, each dish is a testament to the flavors of Texas, crafted with precision and care.”
The statement continues, “Whether you prefer the comfort of our stylish banquettes, the charm of al fresco dining overlooking the River Walk, or the immersive L2 experience at our captivating k-bar, where you can watch our chefs at work in the semi-open kitchen, Landrace promises a dining experience unlike any other.”
What Now San Antonio reached out to the concept’s owner, Chef Steven McHugh, to inquire about the upgrades; however, he could not provide additional information before publication.
Located at 111 Lexington Avenue, the inn is also the home to the Cenote Pool & Bar and the rooftop bar The Moon’s Daughters.
Per the report, Landrace is slated to reopen at the end of August. Follow What Now San Antonio on Facebook for updates on this story.
