Layne’s Chicken Fingers is setting its sights, or should we say, building a nest, in Leon Valley. According to a recently filed permit, the new Greater San Antonio area Layne’s Chicken Fingers restaurant is expected to open at 7249 Bandera Rd.
“We are excited to see the SA market growing,” Layne’s Chicken Fingers CEO, Garrett Reed, told What Now San Antonio via text.
“Both my mom and dad grew up in SA, so it’s a special market for my family and me.
Construction on the Leon Valley Layne’s Chicken Fingers is slated to start in May and wrap up by the end of August. If all goes well with permitting and construction, the Leon Valley Layne’s Chicken Fingers coop will be open for business before the end of summer.
Reed recently closed a 14-store deal with franchisee Dylan White.
“So we’re just getting started,” Reed said of the deal.
The franchisee for the upcoming Leon Valley opening will be Eli Cohen, who Reed shared currently has three stores in development in the Greater San Antonio area and another three in Lubbock, Texas.
What Now San Antonio attempted to reach out to Cohen, but did not hear back by the time of this publication.
Layne’s Chicken Fingers first hatched in 1994, as the website details. Reed shared that he and his family bought the brand in 2017. After 4-5 years, the family felt that the brand was ready to franchise, so Layne’s Chicken Fingers began franchising in 2020-2021. Reed said they’ve sold almost 400 locations, and nearly 50 are currently under construction.
The menu is mouthwatering yet simple. Of course, the chicken fingers are the bedroom of this hen house. Customers can get them in a sandwich, in a wrap, or in a box meal on its own. Layne’s Chicken Fingers come spicy or original with a selection of six different sauce options to pair them with.
Layne’s Chicken Fingers is anticipated to debut in Leon Valley at 7249 Bandera Rd by this summer.
