According to MySA, West Texas winery Llano Estacado Winery — “the largest and second-oldest winery in Texas,” according to the Journal — is expanding to the Hill Country, gearing up to debut a new tasting room and a “state-of-the-art” winery in downtown Fredericksburg.
“Llano has so much history, distribution, and the largest winemaking facility in the state,” Bret Perrenoud, who is in charge of Llano’s growth strategy, shares in a recent news release. He continues, “This is an incredible opportunity to build on that legacy.”
Alongside Perrenoud, “the winery’s new investors are led by Lubbock attorneys Kevin Glasheen and Noe Valles, along with wine enthusiast Ron Ross, retired business executive Bryan Miller, [and] business consultant Aaron Handler,” MySA shares.
For readers who are unfamiliar with Llano Estacado Winery, the press release offers a brief introduction: “Founded in 1976 in Lubbock, Llano Estacado has spent nearly 50 years building its reputation as a leader in the Texas wine industry. Previously owned by over 100 small stockholders, many of whom served on the board for decades, the winery is now poised for significant growth under its new leadership.”
What Now San Antonio reached out to Handler to inquire about his plans for the spot, but he could not provide additional information before publication.
