Make Ready Market — a food hall taking over the former Cavender auto dealership space at 203 8th Street — has announced a new tenant, the San Antonio-based eatery Sofia’s Pizzeria.

The restaurant offers a brief introduction on its website, sharing, “Sofia’s Pizzeria is a family-owned pizzeria named after our daughter who happens to love pizza.”

Making its debut on Potranco Road back in September 2019, the pizzeria has become a popular dining destination, opening a second outpost at 903 East Bitters Road in 2022.

What Now San Antonio reached out to Owner Alan White to inquire about the upcoming location, but a representative could not provide further information before publication.

Nevertheless, locals can expect the menu to offer specialty pizzas — such as Buffalo Chicken, Chicken Alfredo, and Jalapeño Bacon Cheeseburger, to name a few — as well as pasta, wings, and dessert options.

Community members can also expect the business to do its fair part in giving back — “Our core philosophy is that we are here to provide for and help improve our community and work to do so through our Pies for Kids Program,” the eatery shares.

For readers who are unfamiliar, Make Ready, a Hixon Properties-backed project “nestled between Broadway and the San Antonio River,” intends to “feature eats and treats from San Antonio’s epicurean notables and new voices at the table.”

An opening date has not yet been announced.
