Milkshake Factory, the Pittsburgh-born, growing brand, has another location coming to the Alamo City. The sweet and creamy shop recently announced its San Antonio debut location in Stone Oak. While that shop awaits its opening day, the great minds behind the Milkshake Factory dropped some exciting news: San Antonio will have two new locations before the end of this year.
According to a recently filed permit, the second San Antonio Milkshake Factory will open in the Landmark North at 5518 N Loop 1604 W. The permit also details that construction is slated to start in May and wrap up in July of this year. Although the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation permit shows that the Milkshake Factory set to open at 21025 US HWY 281, Unit 59, was supposed to be completed by last August, but is still listed as coming soon on the Milkshake Factory website, we suspect that both locations will open before the end of this year.
What Now San Antonio reached out to the Milkshake Factory VP of Operations, Shawn Smith, but did not hear back by the time of this publication.
“Our fourth-generation business is built on a legacy of quality,” the Milkshake Factory website reads.
“Our family has always insisted on using only the finest ingredients mixed with imagination and passion. You can taste the difference.”
The Milkshake Factory began in 1914 as a small Pittsburgh, PA, soda fountain and chocolate shop founded by Greek immigrants Charlie and Orania Sarandou. Rooted in four generations of confectionery expertise, it transitioned from a historic family chocolate shop to a specialized, modern milkshake brand, starting its national expansion and franchising in 2023.
There are now 31 Milkshake Factory locations across 14 states, with a heavy presence in Pennsylvania, Texas, and Florida. There are currently two Milkshake Factory locations open in Texas, with three listed as coming soon on the brand’s website. Milkshake Factory shops are expected to come to The Woodlands near Houston, Stone Oak, and Preston Valley in Dallas.
“At MilkShake Factory, our motto is treat yourself to the simple joys in life. We want each visit to start and end with a smile,” a blurb announcing the Stone Oak Factory shop on the Milkshake Factory website reads.
“Our team in Stone Oak is serving up handspun milkshakes made with homemade ice cream alongside our legacy gourmet chocolate. Enjoy our signature Chocolate Dipped Strawberry milkshake, dairy-free options, chocolate bark varieties, and more!”
What Now San Antonio also reached out to Milkshake Factory founder and CEO Dana Manatos to find out more details about the expansion, but did not hear back by the time of this publication.
The Milkshake Factory offers a variety of gourmet, classic, signature, and non-dairy shakes. Flavors include chocolate cake shake, campfire s’mores, and caramel toffee cappuccino. The brand also offers limited-time shakes, a wide variety of chocolates, and other sweet treats.
The Milkshake Factory is set to make Alamo City all the sweeter with its second opening, anticipated to come to the Landmark North at 5518 N Loop 1604 W by this summer.
