Missick Cellars is revving up to open a pour house in Boerne. According to Community Impact, Missick Cellars will open at 941 N. School Street this spring.
The winery is run by Chris and Laure Missick. What Now San Antonio reached out to Missick, who confirmed the opening, but was unable to share further details by the time of this publication.
“We make wines that are meant to enrich the meals and the life that we share with family and friends,” the Missick Cellars website reads.
“We are dedicated to supporting our Texas farmers. Wine should always be about place, and have a connection to the land, communities, and culture where it is grown. We share wines from the Finger Lakes because it is an important part of our legacy, but because we are Texans, we endeavor to grow, make, and share Texas wine.”
Inspired by Texas’ “bold spirit”, Chris and Laure Missick moved to Boerne in 2024 after nearly two decades in the wine business.
“Our journey took us from France to California, then to New York’s Finger Lakes, and finally to the rugged Texas Hill Country—a path of pioneers seeking new frontiers,” the website reads.
The winery will offer a variety of white and sparkling wines. Pours will be sourced from the Finger Lakes winery, which the two purchased in 2011. Of course, the brand will also include Texas wines.
A two-decade winemaker, Chris Missick, will bring his expertise to Texas.
“Chris Missick has produced dozens of 90+ wines, earned honors with his wines in major wine publications, pioneered Chenin Blanc in the Finger Lakes, and hosts the podcast VITI+CULTURE, where he talks with makers from all walks of life on how to cultivate a good life,” the website reads.
“He is proud of the wines Texas is producing, and is honored to be a part of the Texas winemaking community.”
Missick Cellars is anticipated to open at 941 N. School Street in Boerne this spring.
