According to Franchisee Dave Peters, the Nashville-based seafood chain Captain D’s is expanding to San Antonio.
“We have our address that we’re looking at in the Seaworld area… We recently looked at a space near the Lackland Air Force Base… We tried to get through to the city, and they wouldn’t work with us on putting in a second drive,” Peters tells What Now San Antonio.
“My business partners and I only invest in the best businesses based on research, experience, and performance, and we feel Captain D’s fits that criterion,” Peters, who will operate the location alongside Brian Clemens and Ruben Cardenas, shared in a press release.
“San Antonio is home to restaurants and food from all over the world, and Captain D’s hand-crafted cooking is a great addition to the area’s rich culinary tradition,” he adds.
For readers who are unfamiliar with the chain, “Captain D’s was founded in 1969 and has a national presence with over 530 restaurants across 23 states. The chain is present in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and is now spreading to South Texas,” the Journal reports.
On the menu, locals can expect to find fried fish and oysters, grilled shrimp, and sides such as coleslaw, okra, and a loaded baked potato.
“We’re supposed to have the unit built by the end of 2025 and open at the end of 2026,” Peters tells What Now. Stay tuned for updates.
