According to a recently submitted permit application, Playa Bowls — “the nation’s leading superfruit bowl shop specializing in acai, pitaya, mango, green and coconut bowls, juices, smoothies, cold brew and more” — plans to debut a new outpost in Boerne.
Coming to 34674 IH-10, Suite 102, the fast-casual eatery will soon be neighbored by establishments such as Chili’s Grill & Bar, Hampton Inn & Suites, and Pottery Home.
“Playa Bowls’ growth is only ramping up. We are well on the way to achieving our goal to establish a presence in every region of the U.S., and our current initiatives are successfully reaching key markets nationwide,” Jayson Tipp, Chief Development Officer at Playa Bowls, shares in a press release.
What Now San Antonio contacted the franchisees behind the Alamo City expansion, Linda and Lou Crerand of Alpha Construction Services, to inquire about the upcoming outposts, but they could not provide additional information before publication.
Nevertheless, the filing reveals that the finish-out of the existing 1,098-square-foot space is slated to begin on September 15 and to be completed by February 2026. For an estimated $300,000, the project will be carried out by the San Antonio-based firm Luna Architecture.
For readers who are unfamiliar with Playa Bowls, the business shares a little about its origins in the release: “What began as a pair of blenders, a patio table, and a fridge in 2014 has flourished into 200 shops nationwide that operate in 22 states, thousands of employees, and a mission to lead communities in healthy, sustainable living.”
