National coffee chain PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans plans to expand its San Antonio footprint, according to a recently submitted permit application.

Coming to 8530 TX-151, the shop will land near establishments such as Black Bear Diner, Chuy’s, and Hampton Inn & Suites.

The filing discloses that interior improvements to the 1,648-square-foot space are scheduled to begin on March 18 and be completed by June 17. For an estimated $200,000, the project will be carried out by Akron, Ohio-based firm L+P Architecture.

For readers who are unfamiliar with PJ’s Coffee, the business was founded in New Orleans in 1978 and is known for its gourmet coffee that is “small batch roasted in 300lbs or less by Roastmaster Felton Jones, who alone has over 25 years of experience with PJ’s Coffee,” according to the business’s website.

Franchisees Keith and Shana Welch of House of Welch Corporation tell What Now San Antonio that the outpost is slated to open this summer. Stay tuned for updates.
