According to a construction permit application filed last year, 85C Bakery Cafe is planning to open a new location at 12710 W I-10 in San Antonio.

What Now San Antonio briefly spoke with Neil Moody, Director of Construction Management, Operations Training, & Franchise Relations, but he could not provide further information before the time of publication.

Nevertheless, the filling provides additional insight. Renovations to the existing 3,630-square-foot space are slated to begin this August and wrap by November, and will cost an estimated $450,000 in total.

For readers who are unfamiliar with the franchise, 85C Bakery was founded in 2003 by Cheng-Hsueh Wu, who wanted to offer premium pastries at an affordable price. In 2008, the first U.S. store opened in Irvine, CA, and, today, 85C has over 1,000 locations worldwide.

On the menu, patrons can expect to find everything from savory pastries — such as baked cheese dogs, pork sung buns, and Hawaiian chicken pies — to danishes and strudels.

An opening date has not yet been announced. Follow 85C on Facebook and Instagram for additional updates.
