Chick-fil-A at 1031 S Walnut Avenue in New Braunfels is getting a makeover — planning to undergo renovations beginning next spring.
According to a recently submitted permit application, the outpost — which neighbors eateries such as McDonald’s, Schlotzsky’s, and Subway — intends to expand the kitchen and dining areas.
What Now San Antonio reached out to Steve Lewis, Director of SW Restaurant Development, to inquire about how the upcoming renovations will affect hours of operation, but he could not provide additional information before publication.
Nevertheless, the filing offers further insight.
Described as the interior improvement of an existing 3,312-square-foot space, the restaurant is adding a new “man door” at the drive-thru, a new kitchen area — to be equipped with a new ice machine, hand sink, dump sink, filtered water faucet, split system HVAC, and stainless-steel counters and a table — as well as converting space currently utilized as a play area into a side dining room.
Renovations are scheduled to begin in March 2024 and finish in May 2024, and the project will cost an estimated $757,000.
