According to a recently submitted construction permit application, a new restaurant listed as Katerina’s is preparing to open in San Antonio.
Coming to 18740 Stone Oak Parkway, taking over a space that was formerly home to Frida Mexican restaurant (which closed back in September 2024 due to landlord-tenant disputes), the eatery will soon be neighbored by establishments such as the cafe Corner Bakery, the pizza joint Mellow Mushroom, and the Spanish fare restaurant Toro Kitchen + Bar.
What Now San Antonio reached out to the upcoming concept’s owner, Dick Jones — previously a managing partner at Southern Wealth Management, an investment advisor firm based in Texas — to inquire about his plans for the eatery; however, he could not provide additional information before publication.
Nevertheless, the filing reveals that the finish-out of the 9,856-square-foot space began on February 18 and is slated to be completed on September 30. It will cost an estimated $525,000, and the Austin-based firm KMIDS, LLC, is managing the project.
