According to a recently submitted permit application, a new eatery called Hibachi Express is coming to Universal City.

Once construction of its 2900-square-foot home at 333 Athenian Drive has been completed, the restaurant will land near establishments such as the Aina Blake Dog Park, the American restaurant Bubba’s 33, and Kohl’s.

What Now San Antonio spoke briefly with the concept’s owner, Jinhong Zhou, who confirmed the name and address of the upcoming business, but she could not provide additional information before publication.

Nevertheless, the filing offers further insight.

Construction will break ground this July and finish in July 2025. For an estimated $1,000,000, local firm Rojo Design + Build will carry out the project.

An opening date has not been announced yet, so stay tuned for updates.
