According to MySA, a new restaurant, Luz Roja Fresh Mex Cocina y Cantina, is rooting itself in San Antonio.

Coming to 419 N. St. Mary’s Street, taking over the former Blanco Cafe space, the eatery will land near establishments such as CommonWealth Coffeehouse & Bakery, Dunkin’ Donuts, and FatHead Pizza.

What Now San Antonio reached out to Devin Elder of DJE Texas Management Group, the concept’s backer, to inquire about his plans for the spot, but he could not provide additional information before publication.

Nevertheless, the concept’s website offers a brief introduction: “Blending traditional with contemporary design, Luz Roja seeks to deliver a vibrant cultural dining experience while honoring the rich flavors of San Antonio Mexican cuisine.”

“With a Riverwalk patio and multiple private dining options, Luz Roja is set to become a business professional and neighborhood favorite destination,” it continues.

Luz Roja Fresh Mex Cocina y Cantina is slated to open in January 2025. Stay tuned for updates.
