According to SA Current, “Amorino, a French chain of boutiques selling Italian-style gelato and artisanal ice creams, will make its San Antonio debut later this year.”

Taking over a 500-square-foot suite at 200 Riverwalk, 105, the shop will land near establishments such as Four Brothers, Iron Cactus Mexican Restaurant, and Thirsty Aztec.

What Now San Antonio reached out to the outpost’s franchisee, Samuel Panchevre of Aztec Family Group LLC — the restaurant group behind Aztec Theatre and Sam’s Burger Joint — to inquire about the upcoming shop, but he could not provide additional information before the time of publication.

Nevertheless, according to public records, construction is underway and slated to finish on November 30.

For readers who are unfamiliar with Amorino, the concept was founded in Paris in 2002 by Cristiano Sereni & Paolo Benassi, and by 2022, it had operated more than 200 stores worldwide.

“The brand’s star product is, of course, gelato, and among the most popular flavors are the Bourbon Vanilla from Madagascar, Pistachio Mawardi as well as the famous chocolate and hazelnut flavor: Inimitable,” the brand’s website shares.

The statement continues, “Using its know-how, the brand also proposes limited edition seasonal flavors, such as Yuzu, Calamansi, Bergamot, Sudashi, organic Almond to name but a few. Originally limited-edition seasonal flavors, Lime Basil and Cheesecake were so successful that they are now available year-round.”

An opening date has not been announced yet so stay tuned for updates.
