According to a recently submitted permit application, a new sports complex will soon be built in Converse, as well as an accompanying restaurant and coffee shop.

Coming to 10251 E Loop 1604 N, the venue will land near establishments such as Un Rinconcito en San Juan, San Antonio Tamales, and Sportsman’s Bar.

The business’s owner, Tim Porter, tells What Now San Antonio that the property totals seven acres and that the complex will include pickleball, basketball, volleyball, and lacrosse courts, a full restaurant, a bar, and a coffee shop.

“It’s going to be a drive-thru and we’re going to have a small sit-down area,” Porter says, introducing Tim’s Coffee Shop. He adds, “It’s going to be attached to our sports complex.”

“We’re going to be serving coffee but we will also have a menu… we’re still working through that,” he continues.

Additionally, according to the filing, construction of the cafe is slated to begin on May 1 and finish on December 1. For an estimated $125,000, the project will be carried out by local firm Lique Design Studio.

“My son is big into sports and I just think it’s missing on this side of the community. We want to bring sports, music, good food, and community together,” shares Porter.

An opening date has not been announced yet, so stay tuned for updates.
