International bundt cake franchise Nothing Bundt Cakes is expanding — planning to begin serving its full-size bundt cakes and “bundtlets” for all occasions at a new outpost in San Antonio.
According to a pending license application, the chain will open at 17046 La Cantera Parkway #110 — within the shopping mall The Shops at La Cantera — joining eateries such as Bovino’s Churrascaria, Carlo’s Bakery, and The Tiny Cantina.
Franchisee Laura Gonzalez tells What Now San Antonio, “We are very excited about our upcoming location” and shares that this will be her third outpost — in addition to her first unit in North West San Antonio and second on the West Side.
The permit application provides further insight into what’s to come. The job is described as “tenant improvement for a small retail bakery” and construction is slated to begin on May 31, finishing by August 31. Costing an estimated $175,000, Ohio-based firm L+P Architecture will carry out the project.
For readers who are unfamiliar with the franchise, Nothing Bundt Cakes describes itself as “offering a modern spin on a classic treat.” Cake flavors include blueberry bliss, white chocolate raspberry, and strawberries & cream — and, for the celiacs, a gluten-free chocolate chip option.
The business was founded in 1997 in Las Vegas and has since debuted over 500 bakery locations in more than 40 states and Canada.
