The creator of Ming’s Noodle Bar is opening a new concept at La Cantera Heights, according to a recent filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration. Ming Qian, the Beijing-born restauranteur behind the original asian noodles and small plates concept, will be opening up shop at 10772 Fiesta Texas Drive, according to the filing.
What Now San Antonio reached out to owner and chef Ming Qian, but she was not immediately available for comment.
According to her website, Ming began her San Antonio restaurant career in 2011 when she first opened a Ming’s Thing stall at the Quarry Ranchers and Farmer’s market, where she sold a variety of East Asian-inspired sausage and bun concepts, as well as pickled delights. As demand expanded, Ming developed catering options, and eventually a concept bar in downtown San Antonio.
Today, San Antonio locals can sample Ming’s flavors at her stall during the weekend Pearl Farmers Market, or grab a bite at the brick and mortar location on 914 East Elmira Street.
The new concept, which will be located in the La Cantera Heights development, will hopefully feature the same authentic, simple, and memorable flavors that fans of Ming’s have come to expect.
Per the filing, construction on the project is set to begin this April, and finish mid-July. When complete, the structure will house a 4,232-square-foot sit down restaurant .
